Sergio Aguero was the headline act as City players, ambassadors and club partners gathered in the heart of Beijing for a special event on day two of the club’s tour of China.
Invited guests at the 1949 venue included City partners, key business contacts in Beijing and friends of MCFC in China.
They were given the opportunity to question Patrick Vieira and Mike Summerbee on various issues, including the club, our interest in China and our developing fan base in the region.
“It’s great to be here in China, because it’s the country of tomorrow,” said Club Ambassador Vieira.
“It’s very nice to see the passion of the fans here, they are very proud of what we have done.
“I’ve also visited some of our soccer schools and to see the kids kicking the ball about with City shirts is just great!”
Aguero, Kolo Toure, Pablo Zabaleta and Costel Pantilimon also attended the event and mingled with the guests, who were delighted to have an opportunity to meet the players.
The Premier League trophy was also on display and attendees had the opportunity have their photograph taken with the silverware.
Chief Communications Officer Vicky Kloss is hopeful that this is the start of a long standing relationship saying,
“We recognise that this is only our second visit to China and it is therefore important to listen and learn and to meet as many people as possible so that we can build more fulfilling and longer lasting relationships for the future.
“This event is a way of thanking our existing partners and will hopefully lay the foundations for future partnerships.”
